Needs a lot of love this 1954 Facel, but its quite intersting you dont see too many of these around.

Seller states:

1954 Ford Comete Car is a restoration project.

The Ford Comete was a car built in France by Ford Motor Company’s French division, Ford SAF.

The Comete’s bodywork was built by Facel, who later became the very well known luxury car maker Facel Vega.

The example being offered here was produced in 1954, it needs full restoration.

The car is currently fitted with what I believe to be a Corvette engine from 1955, the engine number is T219GC.

The rear tires are slick drag racing tires.

A total of 2,165 Ford Cometes were produced.

The body is in fair condition has some dents, the interior retains the original trims .

There is a ding on the right front fender.

At one point somebody put some car covers on the front and rear seats, underneath the original leather is still present.

I am not sure of the condition but, would have a great pattern.

One of the outriggers has some rust,the bottom of the driver’s side has some rust.

I will take some pictures of those areas and post.

The original headlights are not present, the previous owner could not find the bulbs for the original Marchals, so retro fitted the headlights to what is on the car now.

Also, missing the original bumpers, do not have the original headlights either.

Please look at all of the pictures if it is not in the pictures I do not have it.

Car is sold “as is”.

Car is sold with a bill of sale.

I have the title which has been signed over to me , GA will not issue a title for a car made in 1954.

On Jan-23-12 at 12:34:45 PST, seller added the following information: The engine that is currently in the car is not the correct engine, as I stated above I believe it is a 1955 Corvette engine, engine number T219GC.

The car originally came with a Ford V8, you can still find these engines.

1959 Bocar

I love Bocars ! They are so great looking, however I have talked to a few owners who race them and they say they are very temperamental and don’t handle that good. But even with that said they were quite competative.

A number of the Bocars were competitively raced in period, primarily in SCCA events, including the first televised Daytona race in June of 1960, where a Bocar placed 3rd OA & 1st class. Another Bocar won a SCCA race at Daytona later in the year. to the D-Type Jaguar of Ed Rahal. It won an SCCA race on the same track in March of 1960, and followed that by setting a speed record of 175 mph on the beach of Daytona. Repeat, 175 mph in 1960.

The XP-5′s had many podium finishes all the way from Daytona to Watkins Glen to the Bahamas Speed Week.

Comes with ownership history always a plus original title a fast 450 HP corvette engine with weber side drafts.
