HISTORY OF THE 1954 CADILLAC ELDORADO:
230bhp 331 cu. in. overhead valve V8 engine, Hydramatic transmission, independent coil spring front and semi-elliptical-leaf rear suspension with live axle and four-wheel power assisted drum brakes. Wheelbase: 129″

The early fifties were a time of wonder and excitement in America. The war was won, the GIs
had returned home and were starting families and building businesses. The economy was booming and Americans had a seemingly insatiable appetite for all products, especially automobiles.

History would record that these factors would combine to stimulate the most exciting era of
automotive excess. At the heart of it all was GM’s traveling Motorama, a no-holds-barred display of dazzling technology and stunning styling. At the same time, Cadillac was on a roll – flashy styling and high performance made Cadillac the choice of the most successful of a new generation of buyers. Young and exciting, Cadillac displaced Packard as the leader in the fine car market. New models were eagerly awaited, and 1954 was no exception.

Introduced in 1953 was the now legendary new Eldorado. The 1954 model was improved substantially over the 1953. Brake horsepower was increased to 230 and advertisements boasted smoother performance and quieter operation. The 12 volt system, which was standard by this time, had been improved making way for more power operated creature comforts.

1950 Ford – Miss Loved / Cross Country Custom

Since I first started building this car, my intentions were to sell her after I enjoyed her in order to support my shop. I would hate to see her go, as would all my pals who helped so much, but I know it will be only to better my workshop. In doing so it would mean that I could build more kustom cars in the future. I have had my fun, building this car in about 7 months with countless hours and sleepless nights. Putting some 12,000 miles since completion in January 2011. Yes I have driven this car never trailered! Don’t have any major issues to report off. Now its time to let somebody else enjoy the ride.

You can find the build from start to finish here:

These are some of the more notable kustom work done to the car:

Chopped 4” windshield (sedan roof and doors removed)

Removable padded soft top (built just like Gaylord or Carson would have)

Rear package tray moved forward 7”

Frenched headlights & ’51 Buick taillights

Shaved gas door, nosed and decked

Floating grilles ’51 Kaiser in custom tube surround

Rear bumper guard ’53 Kaiser with exhaust exits

Rounded hood and door corners

‘49 Convertible doors & NOS skirts

All seams filled

Body pinch channeled 4” at rear, all floors hand fabricated

Base coat clear coat maroon paint w/ gloss white engine bay

Custom Interior & shaved dash

283 SBC rebuilt stock with 2 barrel carb

700R4 overdrive transmission rebuilt

Dropped uprights & coil spring rear suspension

Frame notched & K member added

Body modifications by Yaril’s Customs
Paint and body work by Leo Vizcaino
Interior and top stitching by Rivero upholstery
Motor by Herco
Chassis work by Yaril’s Customs

The list of new parts is too long to list, from Firestone whitewall tires, to brass top radiator. There was no expense spared. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

It has also been recognized all over the country as I have driven her to the Grand National Roadster Show for its big debut, it was honored with 7 awards! Took home Best Kustom at Billetproof Florida and Ground Hog Gala. At the Leadsled Spectacular in Kansas brought home a couple more awards and some magazine photo shoots. It has also attended countless other in town shows. This car is built to drive, but dont think it is a “modern” version of what they did in the 50′s, this rig has 4 wheel drums, no power steering, no power windows; other than the hidden i-pod stereo and overdrive trans this is my time machine. Driving around in this car takes you back in time when things were a little slower paced. Even though she goes about 80 down the highway with no problems getting about 20 mpg, its built to cruise.

Please serious buyers / offers only. I will consider trade plus cash for a 47-49 Chevy 5 window solid project truck minimal rust, will consider older trucks but not newer. This car can be driven anywhere.
