Seller Stats:

This is a 50′s, 60s-70s era SCCA B/P Corvette racer that I remember as very successful from my A & B production races back in the day. Back then it was said to have been built by a couple of GM engineers at the Tech Center from parts of factory racers. It was offered for sale by then owner Jim
Swan of Motor Sport Research in Des Plaines, Il. and the ad in Competition Press said it had a ’61 factory competition chassis. After I bought and restored it in the early ’90′s and began racing it, I found it to be a fast, great handling, easy to drive solid axle, unlike most solid axles. It was very fast and in fact won its races overall at the Chicago Historic events at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin three times, turning under 2.40 lap times….. It is still equipped with its original factory full big brake drum set up that operates flawlessly even at brake killer Road America. It is SVRA legal and has a 327,
new triple disk clutch, B-W super T-10 four speed, and original Chev. Positraction rear end with Moser axles and much, much more. Spares include a dual plane intake, axles & transmission (never needed). I feel this to be one of the best C-1′s in the country.

It would make a fine competitive Monterey Historics contender with its history and originality.
Would like to mention that car still has original vented backing plates, fans, scoops & has finned drums. It truly is easy to drive as it handles & drives similar to a mid year. I won’t get into why as that is a lengthy subject..

This odd bird somehow calls to me, roger roger, Slap on the ol Goggles and hit the Throttle !

Constructed c 1946 in Lake County, CA by a fellow who was fabricating custom equipment for hospitals. It was used as a daily driver into the fifties. In around 1964 the owner was giving a grand child a ride, and hit a tree in his driveway. He then hung it from the rafters of his shop.
The next owner mounted it on a tilt trailer, it became a Lake County parade favorite. He would raise the front end, and exhaust a fire extinguisher for blast off!
I first saw it in Upper Lake a few years ago, and decide I had to have it.
The following to the best of my knowledge, if the provenance of these parts is important to you, please verify:
The power train is not in the car
The 1949 Triumph twin is the second engine, and was installed sometime in the fifties
Trans, wheels, brakes, fenders are Harley Knucklehead.
Steering wheel VW. I don’t know where the gauges came from. Controls, front axle, suspension, and rear swing arm are all custom. There is no seat. The gas tank is custom fabbed and sits behind the driver. The drop tank is aluminum 300 gallon . I do not see any serious corrosion. The rear swing arm needs to be repaired, or re fabricated, but the design seems sound. Missing right brake drum, needs rewiring, brake lines and various misc work. The engine is not stuck, and has compression, I have not tried to start it.
Has a black CA motorcycle plate, the last sticker is 1965. Sold with a bill of sale, only
