1930 Ford Roadster for sale
Nice clean Ford Flathead Roadster
Seller states:
You are bidding on an early ’50s built 1932 Ford roadster (all “Henry” with a ’30 Ford roadster body) restored approximately five years ago. It is the nicest driving hot rod that you will find.
It is all original Ford and late ’49, early ’50′s period hot rod equipment. It has an original ’32 Ford chassis, with an original early dropped front axle, original Lincoln brakes (front and rear), original “Lovejoy” Delco shocks front and rear, original ’32 Ford rear end with original period correct Halibrand rear end, original “Bent Spoke” 16″ Kelsey Hayes wheels, ’39 Ford Transmission with 25 tooth Lincoln Zephyr gears, F-100 steering with original 17′ Bell steering wheel. The engine is a relatively mild 59AB flathead with Iskenderian cam, Weber aluminum flywheel, original Edmonds 2X2 intake manifold and heads, two Stromberg ’97′s, two brush 6 volt generator, original “Beehive” oil filter, “re-cored original ’32 Ford radiator with an original “32 Ford grill shell . Wiring is done with period correct cloth covered wires.
The interior is sparse period correct with original “bomber seats”, original Stewart Warner “large block gauges”, 6 volt electrical system and 12 gallon fuel tank. There is a “Bonneville” style tonneau cover.
The body is in my view very sympathetic to the “hot rod” period. It is solid, but has much patina, some rust, some paint (;-)) and appropriate for this truly nice piece of mid Americana — drive it an park it — “no worries”. It runs beautiful, runs cool, brakes work perfect (no pull) , steering is excellent, clutch engages properly, it is surprisingly quick, very nice to drive including freeways. All the gauges work properly, lights work. We installed an electrical fuel pump to pump fuel when it sits for a while to assist the mechanical fuel pump. Mechanical fuel pump is new, generator and starter rebuilt, new (original American Bosch) voltage regulator, new 6 volt battery.
